Minor disruptions to traffic were present with Police diverting traffic around the scene throughout the incident.

Cessnock District Rescue Squad personnel have also attended numerous calls for storm damage and snake sightings in recent weeks. These calls become more frequent during the warmer summer months and residents are reminded of a few useful tips. Clean up or secure any loose objects that may become flying debris during strong wind, clean all gutters to prevent water overflowing into your roof and have any damaged or leaning trees assessed by an expert. If you see a snake do not attempt to catch or kill it, call 49912444 ASAP and if safe to do so monitor the snakes movements as this greatly increases the chances of a successful capture.
