Rescue Squad Attends Duffies Drive Accident

At approximately 5:05pm Cessnock District Rescue Squad responded to reports of an Accident at the intersection of Maitland Rd and Duffies Drive Cessnock, Initial reports stated that there was 1 person trapped by confinement, upon arrive of Rescue members it was determined that the woman was not trapped and other rescue units were stood down, Rescue members remained on scene until the women was assisted out the vehicle and transported  to John Hunter Hospital for precautionary reasons due to the speed zone in which the accident occurred. 1 east bound lane was blocked and a traffic contra flow was established for a short time and 1 vehicle was removed and traffic was returned to normal.

On another note Cessnock District Rescue Squad is still receiving a large amount of calls for snakes, if you see a snake keep an eye on the snake from a safe distance and contact the Squad on (02) 49912444 and the squad will attend ASAP to attempt to locate and remove the snake.
