Rescue Squad busy once again

At Approximately 7:45pm on Friday 10/5/2013 Cessnock District Rescue Squad was called to a person’s trapped accident on Charles St Abermain. Upon arrival of Rescue Squad members it was established that there was 2 people still in the vehicle. Rescue Squad member’s assisted NSW Ambulance paramedics to remove 1 female who was not trapped. Rescue squad members then started the delicate process of working to free the rear seat passenger whom was trapped by the legs, what made the process difficult was the vehicle had come to rest upon a tree which prevented access from passenger side of the vehicle, using a Hydraulic Ram Rescue Squad members worked to free the woman who was trapped for around 30 mins, Rescue Squad members then assisted NSW ambulance paramedics to remove the woman. Both Passengers were transported to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition. Rescue Squad remained on scene until approximately 9:45pm to assist with lighting, Charles St Abermain remained closed until approximately  10pm.

On the 7/5/2013 at 3:10pm Cessnock District Rescue Squad members were called to reports of a persons trapped accident at Cessnock Rd and Kline St Weston, upon police arrival it was established that no one was trapped and Rescue Squad members returned to base, Later that evening at 7:30pm Cessnock District Rescue Squad was responded to assist police at corner of Coronation and Victoria STS Kurri Kurri  in stabilising an awning of a takeaway shop when a car accident had occurred and one of the vehicles collided with some of the awning supports. Rescue Squad Members used Acro Props to stabilise the awning while the vehicle was removed. Rescue Squad members remained on scene for a short time after the vehicle was removed to make sure the awing was safe with the Acro Props still in place.
