At 1740 this afternoon our squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on Cessnock Road at Weston.
Arriving on scene , our operators were confronted with the aftermath of a collision between a car and motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was trapped beneath the motor car.
Whilst the magical team from NSW Ambulance began treating the patient, our team worked simultaneously to both stabilise the vehicle and prepare the equipment required to lift the car off the rider.
Once the car was stabilised, and with the go ahead from the medical team, our operators used pneumatic rescue bags to lift the car.
The casualty was promptly removed from under the car and relocated to a safer location to be further assessed and treated.
The Toll rescue helicopter landed close by in preparation to transport the patient to hospital.
Once stabilised enough to transport, the decision was made to transport the rider by road ambulance to hospital.
Our operators remained on scene for several hours to assist with lighting for investigations to take place.
A pretty confronting scene , hats off to all emergency services on scene.
