Elderly woman located and rescued from bushland

At 1453 this afternoon our squad was activated to a vertical rescue in bushland near Wollombi.
An elderly female suffering from dementia had fallen following entering bushland for a walk.
She was located by a local RFS member who raised the alarm.
Arriving on scene, the woman was being treated by paramedics for her injuries, our operators began the task of clearing small saplings and vegetation to create a clear exit path for extrication.
Once made comfortable enough to be moved, the woman was placed on a scoop stretcher, to enable her to be lifted into the awaiting stokes litter .
Whilst this was happening, more of our team were setting up a belay vertical rescue system so a safety line could be attached to the stokes litter.
When all teams were ready, she was carried up the embankment where she was then transferred into the ambulance bed where she could be further assessed and treated.
Well done to all involved , it was a great combined effort from
