The Cessnock District Rescue Squad was called to a single vehicle accident on Sandy Creek Rd at approximately 6:55am on Thursday 4/4/2013, on arrival of Cessnock District Rescue Squad members the male single occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased by NSW Ambulance Paramedics. It appears the vehicle has left the road and collided with a tree, Cessnock District Rescue Members remained on scene for a short time and Sandy Creek Rd was closed in both directions until NSW Police crash investigation attended the scene and conducted enquires into the fatal accident.
