Rescue Squad attends accident at Duffies Drive

At Approximately 7am on Wednesday the 26 June  Cessnock District Rescue Squad responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident 1km from Cessnock on Duffie Drive. Upon arrival of Rescue Squad members it was determined that there was 4 car accident on the intersection of Duffie Drive and Maitland Rd , Rescue Squad members assisted NSW Ambulance Paramedics with treatment of 1 male driver who was not trapped but was lying on the road with his legs still in the vehicle and the  other drivers were not injured, while NSW Ambulance Paramedics and Cessnock District Rescue Squad members treated the male for leg fractures and possible chest injuries he was then stabilised  and transported by road to the John Hunter Hospital. Rescue Squad members also assisted with traffic control with  heavy morning  traffic in both directions. Cessnock District Rescue Squad members remained on scene till approx 8:30am while the road was cleared and a large amount of fluid from the damaged vehicle cleaned from the roadway.

While it has been a quiet time for Cessnock District Rescue Squad for callouts to motor vehicle accidents, the Rescue Squad has still been busy attending numerous callouts for animal rescues, limb entrapment and fund raising activities within the community.
