It’s been a busy number of days for our operators.
A widespread range of activations covering a fair geographical range as well, all while maintaining full coverage should any other incidents arise.
At 7:39 Thursday morning we were activated to a persons trapped motor vehicle collision at Pokolbin. It was confirmed when we arrived on scene that one person remained in the vehicle trapped by compression of the legs. Hydraulic rescue tools were used to release the trapped passenger , they were taken by Westpac Rescue Helicopter to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
At 1856 Thursday , we were activated to assist with locating persons missing in the Watagans National Park. A relative raised the concern for welfare when the POI’s did not arrive at their destination. The latest point from their mobile phones were used as a reference. After a great effort from our team, the persons were located unharmed a while later, but their vehicle was unable to be recovered at that point. They were taken to their destination by our team and they organised to have their vehicle recovered at a later time.
At 0950 Saturday we were asked to attend Cessnock Hospital to remove a ring from a man’s finger after an incident with a caravan jockey wheel fractured his fingers, which then caused his fingers to swell.
Our dremel tool was used to remove the ring, constant water was applied during the removal to keep the material cool. It was safely removed so that further treatment could be achieved.
At 0511 Sunday we were activated to Millfield for a medical gain access / assist. An elderly lady had fallen over in the toilet.
The toilet door was removed with the use of our rabbit tool to gain access to the woman.
Our team sat with her, made her comfortable and warm until medical personnel arrived, which was not long after we gained entry.
She was assessed and treated by the medical personnel before being taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
At 1253 Sunday we were activated to a persons trapped motor vehicle collision at Pokolbin.
Arriving on scene it was confirmed all persons were out of the vehicle. Our operators remained on scene to see if they could render any further assistance. A short time later they returned to base.
We cannot thank our dedicated operators amount for their commitment, especially during the times they could be spending with family etc over a long weekend.
Thank you to you all.
