Road crash shuts Cessnock Road at Neath

At 1304 this afternoon our squad was activated to a persons trapped road crash at Neath.
Arriving on scene it was confirmed one person remained trapped by confinement following a two vehicle head on collision.
One of the vehicles came to rest on a metal guard rail which affected the stability of the car.
The vehicle was stabilised by our operators utilising our stabfast equipment and cribbing, then both drivers side doors and b-pillar were removed to allow greater access for the patient to be extricated.
Our team then assisted medical personnel with casualty extrication on to a spine board , where they were then carried to the awaiting stretcher, loaded into the ambulance and transported for further assessment and treatment.
Yet another example of all services working together to get the job done.
